Day of Arafah
AnnualThe 9th of Dhul-Hijjah is the Day of Arafah. Fasting on this day is highly recommended for those not performing Hajj. The Prophet ﷺ said it expiates the sins of two years.
Hadith
صِيَامُ يَوْمِ عَرَفَةَ أَحْتَسِبُ عَلَى اللَّهِ أَنْ يُكَفِّرَ السَّنَةَ الَّتِي قَبْلَهُ وَالسَّنَةَ الَّتِي بَعْدَهُ
"Fasting on the Day of Arafah, I hope from Allah that it will expiate the sins of the year before it and the year after it."
Reward
Expiates the sins of the preceding year and the coming year.
